The "Finished" Pouch is approximately 30cm x 25cm and suits an iPad/Tablet with a 'shockproof' case such as Ottobre and Gumdrop. The Velcro closure is designed to be as easy to open/close as possible, allowing the user independence when inserting/removing the device. This is also made easier by the lining being made from satin fabric, to minimise friction with the rubber case as it is slid in/out.
Many autistic children have difficulty understanding when told verbally that it is time to finish an activity, and also recognising how to finish an activity in an appropriate manner. Quite often, it is at this point that the child becomes upset, which can lead into a meltdown as they cannot understand the situation and transition to the next activity.
The “Finished” product range includes small and medium tote bags, pouches for electronic devices such as iPad's, and Throwovers, all with black and white check fabric (the widely recognised symbol for finished). By placing the item into the appropriate finished product, this symbolises to the child that they have finished with the activity. This is a concrete sign for the child to then move on to another task.
